I'm a thousand words into my 3,000 word paper, but I have about 3500 words left in my notes, so some hardcore editing is gonna have to happen. Needless to say, going out tonight is not going to happen.
I went to the ABC for some caffeine and ended up also getting a Double Chocolate Magnum, which is the best kind of Magnum in my opinion, and after a lovely dinner of garlic spaghetti, I am fully prepared to attack this paper. When it's done, I only have one final left to study for, thank goodness, because I'm down to only 12 days and I hate being stuck inside writing when I should be absorbing more of Hungary.
The pre-departure meeting was today, and it wasn't so much of a meeting as much as it was a congregation of Americans in the hallway staring at a checklist...I'm not looking forward to cleaning this apartment.
The brevity of the meeting allowed me to attend the final Messenger meeting, though, and it was uneventful. We took a group picture and rounded up the last of the articles for the final issue. If I could access my email from my apartment, I'd be editing tonight, too, but it seems that I'll have to go in to school early tomorrow and get it done before class.
After class, Julie and I are doing the so-called "Millenium tour"of Budapest from my guidebook, which includes Andrassy Boulevard and City Park. We're stopping for lunch at a restaurant on the way, which I found on this website. I wish I'd found that site earlier, because it has so much useful information.
Then the weekend fun begins...and then reality will set back in and I'll have to study for finals and start packing up my life into two suitcases and a carry-on.
